AMD is a semiconductor company that develops computer processors and other related technologies for business and consumer markets (Wikipedia). There rival is Intel, when it comes to selling CPU’s. Intel is known for having more high-end CPU’s, but with AMD you are probably going to get more bang for your buck. AMD has good performance CPU’s for excellent prices.
The AMD RYZEN 7 1800X is a 7th generation CPU. It is extremely fast with 8-cores and 16 threads. Passmark gave it an outstanding score of 15,390. I would highly recommend this CPU to anyone looking to upgrade their computer. It is a little pricey at $338.77, so it may only make sense to buy for a business or gamer computer, but its performance makes it well worth the price.
Specifications:
CPU Socket Type- Socket AM4
Core Name- Summit Ridge
Number of Cores – 8-Core
Number of Threads- 16
Operating Frequency- 3.6 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency- 4.0 GHz
L1 Cache- 768KB
L2 Cache- 4MB
L3 Cache-16MB
As you can tell from the specifications this is a very high performance CPU at a great value. It has an excellent clock speed at 3.6 GHz and has plenty of cache. I can guarantee you that you will not be disappointed in this purchase, as it is fast and dependable. If you are looking for a high-end CPU, then the AMD RYZEN 7 1800X CPU is the one for you.
Intel released their 8086 CPU back in 1978 that became the rise of the x86 architecture that CPU manufacturers based their current architecture off of. Now, 40 years later, Intel decided to celebrate their success by making an 8th Gen CPU that would be like no other. The CPU was a disappointing tribute to the 8086 that made Intel what they are today. That is the i7 Coffee Lake 8086K.
This CPU has impressive specs when it comes to clock speed and that is about it. However it wasn’t what I expected for a limited edition CPU.
8th Gen Coffee Lake
6 Cores and 12 Threads
Base Frequency of 4.00 GHz (5.00 GHz Turbo)
12 MB of SmartCache
TDP of 95 Watts
It is one of the first to hit the 5 GHz clock speed. However, it does not run 5 GHz on all cores, it matches benchmark scores with the 8700K, and its basically a glorified 8700K. With the $463.54 price tag from Newegg, it sees no use. It doesn’t even have stock cooling with the CPU. The 8700K comes at a price of $369.99 from Newegg.
These reviews from AnandTech and Techradar support the fact that the 8086K is very underwhelming. I would recommend the 8700K over the 8086K because it’s cheaper, it has the same benchmark scores, and the only difference between the two is a mere 300 MHz.
One of the main worries when building a brand new gaming PC is if you will get enough performance out of your components. Thankfully the i7-7700 is packed full of performance with a max clock of 4.2 GHz and 8 MB of cache, this processor will cut through any game you throw at it like butter.
The i7-7700 might be a very powerful processor, but it surely is NOT the most powerful by any means. The one thing that holds this back is that it is a 7th generation chip which doesn’t compare to the newest i9 processors. It is nonetheless a very powerful CPU.
Also, if you spend another $100 then you can upgrade to a CPU that has almost double the performance
Even if it isn’t the best CPU on the market the specs of this CPU isn’t anything to ignore.
Pros: loading into rust is a flash as well as fortnite and other games run every thing perfectly.
Cons: none found yet
Other Thoughts: Make sure you update your bios before putting this in it maybe produce crashing or even start up failure for the processor is not found especially if you have a asus z-170 deluxe trust me
In conclusion, this processor is very great for gaming but is not the fastest you can get on the market. If you want you can buy it here if you would like.

Weather you build your PC(s) or buy one pre-built no one can argue the importance of ones CPU. Having a bottleneck anywhere in your PC is never a good thing, but especially when it could come from the brains of the whole operation.
When choosing a CPU for your rig one of the most important things to do before you decide on anything in particular is to make sure you appropriate your funds correctly according to your budget. If your budget for the entire rig is $500 you will not want to spend $300 on a CPU. This will cause you to cheap out on other parts of the PC and most likely cause a bottleneck somewhere within the rig.
Luckily with the I7-5820k you do not have to worry about bottlenecks being an issue. Rated on PassMark as the best value CPU you can bet that you will see every ounce of performance for every dollar given out.
With the confidence form the Haswell-E series, and the power from the I7 line it is easy to see why this packs the most bang for your buck.
But it would be easier just to show you why. Take a Look:
Specifications
Socket Type: LGA-2011 (V3)
Number of Cores 6
Number of Threads 12
Processor Base Frequency 3.30 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency 3.60 GHz
Cache 15 MB (L3) 6 x 256 Kb (L2)
TDP 140 W
With many games only utilizing 4 cores this is perfect for a multi-purpose system. With the available cores needed to run most modern games at full potential plus a few left over you can always count on this to deliver for most common use cases. With the addition of Hyper-threading you have a lot of head-space to work with and from my experience it is better to have more then not enough.
Another thing you will notice is the abundance of the Cache on the processor itself. For a total of around 16 MB of Cache this gives you all the computing power for most needs. Especially gaming.
Not a believer just yet? Don’t worry, take a look at some of the best reviews:
“Hex core, super efficient architecture, overclocks well, relatively affordable, good temperature…”
Via Anonymous user on Newegg
“The most affordable Haswell-E processor available at the time, and still runs strong.”

The CPU that I tested is the Intel 6th gen i7-6700K. I used it in my home computer, which is a little old. Compared to my old computer it handles high fps much better. It runs at 4.0 GHz but can run up to 4.2 GHz so it handles videos and game play fairly well.It even handle game play with HD graphics better than my old computer.
I used an online MMO that I know can make most computer lag a little. So after playing the game for a while the only problem I had is a old graphics card that needs an upgrade. The CPU handles everything that would be expected, although it does have some trouble with large amount of Fps, which is an expected problem that will probably happen. This rig I have set up is not a gaming computer but a work computer.
The CPU it-self has 8 MB of L3 cache, which means it can handle a fair amount of data at one time. The CPU only handles two speeds of DDR4 RAM 2133 and 1866. It has the ability to handle lots of data, and put in some hard work. This would be perfect if you plan to use it for lots of work or some game play. So either way if you want to play or work from home, this is the CPU to use.
<![CDATA[Intel has a wide variety of many hardware options for a computer. Out of all of the things that they produce and manufacture, Intel is most commonly known for their CPU’s (Central Processing Unit). Out of the two brands of CPU’s (Intel and AMD) Intel has better and more efficient CPU’s than the opposing CPU brand, AMD. The Intel CPU’s have a better performance rating than the AMD CPU’s.
Intel was founded by Gordon E. Moore and Robert Noyce on July 18, 1968. Their headquarters is located in Santa Clara, California.
The Intel Core i7-7700 Kaby Lake is a 7th generation CPU that Intel produces. I believe that this CPU is a good option for many different motherboards. This Central Processing Unit has a lot of capabilities for many different motherboards. Having a pretty average clock speed and a high amount of cache, makes this CPU have a very good performance.
After going through all these specifications of this central processing unit, makes this a very high end CPU. This would be good for many different purposes for a computer. Weather you are just using it as a home computer, a business computer, or even a gaming computer. Even though this processor is quite pricey, it is worth it. It has a high performance rating and it shows. Note: This review is part of a classroom project.

<![CDATA[AMD is a very well known company which has been selling products since 1969. AMD is a very trusted seller in which is well-known for selling products at very inexpensive prices. I needed to buy a CPU for a low cost therefore, I chose AMD specifically for a very inexpensive gaming PC. Although the Motherboards I already had, required an FM2+ socket type.
I chose the AMD – A6-7400K Processor – Black Series. It was very inexpensive costing only $58.99.Pass-mark rates this processor fairly decent for how low the cost is. Which for my needs it fit perfect for me.
Passmark CPU Mark: 2792
Passmark CPU Rank:1132
This processor has a high processor speed although it had a couple flaws. First there was not much cache therefore it made the processor run overall slower. The 6-cores helps on certain things although it does not necessarily help me with gaming. Specifications
Processor Speed:
3.5 gigahertz
Memory Compatibility:
DDR3 1866
Cache Level:
L1 (96 KB 3-way and 2 x 16 KB 4-way),
L2 (1 Megabyte)
Processor Cores:
6-cores
Overall this processor preforms well for the price. I would recommend this for other things, but it might not be the best processor for a gaming PC. AMD – A6-7400K Processor – Black Series is a reliable processor however.

<![CDATA[I recently was fortunate enough to get my hands on an AMD RYZEN Threadripper 1900X. This thing is a monster of a CPU, I mean just look at the case it comes in! Ranking very highly at the top of its class. This is definitely one of the best AMD CPUS’s up to date. It may cost $549.99, but you definitely get performance per dollar. This CPU is mainly for people who don’t have a low end budget for their PC.
This CPU is made for an sTR4 Socket. It also has 8 cores, and 16 threads. For the L1 Cache it has 768KB, for L2 it has 4MB, and for L3 it has 16MB. For Operating Frequency, it runs 3.8-4.0 GHz. The one down fall i found, which is not a big problem at all, would be the fact that it doesn’t come with a fan/cooling system for it, so that would be needed to buy desperately.
Socket Type: Socket sTR4
# of Cores: 8
# of Threads: 16
Cache: L1-768KB L2-4MB L3-16MB
Operating Frequency: 3.8 GHz
Max Turbo Frequency: 4.0 GHz
Overall, this CPU does more than get the job done. I have had no problems with this at all! I would 100% recommend this to anyone without a small budget because it is $549.99.
Kaby Lake is the eighth Intel Core CPU. With its big 7700K it should do good right? Well it does, it’s better than the previous generation i7-6700K. With the i7-6700K rating 11,111 vs 12,097 i7-7700K on Passmark. The major change is an improved 14nm process that improves clock speeds and power characteristics because of the changes in the fin and silicon, and the second change involves updates to the video/multimedia block to support hardware decoding and encoding of 4K. So you can binge Netflix in 4K! Roughly one third of the CPU die is devoted to graphics and multimedia functions.
Even though the i7-7700K is better, its better by a little percent. 4.5GHz turbo compared to 4.2GHz turbo on the i7-6700K and 4.2 base vs. 4.0 base give the expected performance differential of five to seven percent. If you overclock both processors you’re looking at 4.7GHz against 5.0GHz! Is it worth a $20 difference? With this rate of difference you’ll be hearing crickets at the Intel booth.
Socket: LGA 1151
Clock Speed: 4.20 GHz – 4.50 GHz
Bus Speed: 8 GT/s DMI3
Cores: Quad Core
Cache: L2 – 4 x 256KB L3 – 8MB
Threads: 8
But don’t get me wrong, the i7-7700 Kaby Lake is a great processor but there’s just no effort by Intel. I mean, it has the highest clocked Intel CPU and 5.0GHz overclocks. Who doesn’t want that? If you can fork up $350 for a CPU that only has slight differences that you probably won’t notice in a PC you’ll still have peace in mind that you have one of the best Intel 4 core processor. If you want a good all around CPU for a decent price, this isn’t the best option. But if you have the money, then go right for it. You can go home and watch 4K Netflix with your $350 i7 box.
This is the best preforming Intel CPU in the i7 line. It’s just a little depressing that it’s a quad core. But if you are looking to buy this CPU you can’t really go wrong. A lot of people seem to like the $350 quad core, because it’s rocking a sweet 5 egg on Newegg.com. Note: This review is part of a classroom project. Resources:
This is a review on the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X CPU manufactured by AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) and its capabilities for gaming computers and overall performance. AMD has been suffering for the past couple of decades trying to keep up with Intel since their first CPU was introduced in 1991. There is no doubt that Intel has released superior CPU’s compared to most of AMD’s, but now Intel has met their match. AMD has managed to dig themselves out of a hole with the new introduction of the Ryzen series that was made to combat the Skylake, and Kaby Lake Processors from Intel, and I have to say… it has done a very good job at it. The 1800X is the top of the line in the Ryzen series and its performance is amazing, for a much smaller price than most of Intel’s expensive, mediocre processors. Its the CPU that will destroy graphics, and not your game.
AMD was founded in 1969 and their headquarters is located in Sunnyvale California. They didn’t get into the CPU business until 1991 with their AM386 processors. (Wikipedia) AMD has come along way with their architecture and their computing capabilities, but they have always been reasonable on prices which makes AMD perfect for budget worried PC fanatics. I found the 1800X on Toms Hardware and decided to test it myself. I was blown away by the performance of the chip giving the same; if not higher, frame rate and graphics quality. The new Zen architecture makes the Ryzen series exchange blows with Intels I-5s and I-7s. The 1800X can be found on Newegg for $499.99.
Ryzen 7 1800X Specs:
Socket :AM4
Operating Frequency: 3.6 GHz (4.0 GHz O.C)
L3 Cache: 16 MB
L2 Cache: 4MB
L1 Cache: 768KB
DDR4 Support
Unlocked Processor
Thermal Design Power 95W
# Cores: 8
# of Threads: 16
Ryzen Has really made a great comeback with the Ryzen Chips, and have made themselves a superpower to fear by Intel now. The Ryzen chips are cheaper than their Intel counterparts and even out performs them in a lot of areas. The Ryzen 1800X has overclocking capabilities, and its multiple cores allow for easy multitasking and multiple threading. The Ryzen 1800X is the best price for its performance and is overall is great in any PC build. The Overall Benchmark of the 1800X on Passmark is 15421. (the highest CPU Mark is 27428 and the lowest is 79).
Here are some reviews of the 1800X:
