Using the Radeon RX 7900 XTX Graphics Card for AutoCAD (+ a monitor)

I use AutoCAD all the time. It is my favorite application on my computer. I really enjoy being able to make technical drawings on it. This is the application on my computer that I use the most out of everything. However, the person I bought this computer from had a terrible graphics card in it. It had rendering delays and the response time was slow, it was just a very cheap graphics card that does NOT work for what I am doing. I HAD to get a new one. Before I get into the card I got specifically for AutoCAD, lets talk about what AutoCAD actually is.

According to CoPilot, “AutoCAD is a computer-aided  design (CAD) software application developed by Autodesk. It was first released in December 1982 for the CP/M and IBM PC platforms as a desktop app running on microcomputers with internal graphics controllers. AutoCAD is used by architects, project managers, engineers, graphic designers, city planners, and other professionals to prepare technical drawings. Whether it’s creating 2D floor plans or intricate 3D models, AutoCAD provides a versatile platform for designing and visualizing various projects.”  (“Microsoft Copilot Conversation on AutoCAD, 25 Apr. 2024”)

The system requirements are pretty low for my price range. I have a budget of $2,000 that I am willing to spend on a video card. When I first saw these requirements, I was confident that I would find a very good graphics card. That is exactly what I did.

The video card I found is the Radeon RX 7900 XTX. This video card is well under my budget and it is very better than the recommended graphics card. The recommended video card was the Radeon Pro W5500.

The price of the one I got may be doubled, however, it is well worth it. It is a PCIe 4.0 x16 and it is also DirectX 12. Everything on the graphics card that I bought is 70.5% better than the recommended Radeon Pro W5500. All for the price of $899.99.

This graphics card is ranked number 6 on the “High End” list on PassMark. It has a G3D mark of 30,960 which is pretty good.

I also decided to get a new monitor with it considering the fact that my budget was $2,000 and I only spent about $900. Also, the monitor I had originally was not very good. So I did some research and the monitor that I decided on is the Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor. This monitor is 34 inches and the resolution is 3440 x 1440. It has a curved screen and the refresh rate is 175 Hz. It has a response time of 0.1 ms. It comes with 1 HDMI port and 2 display ports. This monitor comes with all of this for the price of $899.99.

With everything new that I got, my AutoCAD experience has been incredible. Especially compared to what it was before I got these new things. The graphics card has been working great and it makes AutoCAD look great too. The monitor that I got with for it also works great and also looks great. I am very happy with everything that I bought and I have no complaints.

I used CoPilot to review the post above by asking “Please review the following blog post and give me any inputs to improve it.” and then dropping in the text.  Here is its reply.

Thank you for sharing your blog post! Let’s dive into it and provide some feedback to enhance it.

  1. Introduction and Passion for AutoCAD:
    • Consider adding a brief sentence about why AutoCAD is your favorite application. What specific features or tasks do you enjoy most?
  2. AutoCAD Overview:
    • You’ve accurately described AutoCAD as a computer-aided design (CAD) software application developed by Autodesk.
    • To make it even more engaging, consider adding a real-world example of how AutoCAD is used in a specific industry (e.g., architecture, engineering, interior design).
  3. Graphics Card Upgrade:
    • Your decision to upgrade the graphics card due to the previous one being inadequate is relatable.
    • Mentioning the specific issues you faced with the old card (e.g., lag, rendering delays) could add context.
  4. Radeon RX 7900 XTX Choice:
    • Excellent choice! The Radeon RX 7900 XTX is a powerful card that aligns well with AutoCAD’s demands.
    • Highlight its key features: PCIe 4.0 x16 and DirectX 12 support.
    • You’ve made a compelling case for its superiority over the recommended Radeon Pro W5500.
  5. Price-Performance Ratio:
    • Emphasize the value you’re getting for the $899.99 price tag.
    • Perhaps mention any additional features (e.g., cooling, warranty) that contribute to its worth.
  6. PassMark Ranking and Performance:
    • The PassMark ranking at number 6 is impressive.
    • Explain how this translates to better performance in AutoCAD tasks (e.g., smoother rendering, faster model manipulation).
  7. Monitor Selection:
    • You’ve mentioned getting a new monitor, but it’s incomplete. Consider elaborating on your choice.
    • Provide details about the monitor’s resolution, refresh rate, and any features that enhance AutoCAD usage.
  8. Conclusion:
    • Summarize your excitement about the upgraded graphics card and the upcoming monitor.
    • End with a call-to-action: “Stay tuned for my next blog post where I’ll share my experience using the Radeon RX 7900 XTX with AutoCAD!”

Overall, your blog post is informative, and your enthusiasm shines through. With a few tweaks, it’ll be even more engaging! Keep up the great work!

SAMSUNG 870 EVO Series Hard Drive

In todays blog, I will be talking about the SAMSUNG 870 EVO Series hard drive. This hard drive in my opinion is very good for just a simple home motherboard. This hard drive is perfect for a home motherboard because of its specifications and the price! For the low cost of only $52.95, you can get this incredible hard drive!

Now lets get to the fun part, the specifications! This hard drive is 250GB. Its read speed goes up to 560MBps and its write speed goes up to  530MBps. Its MTBF is 1,500,000 hours. It also has a warranty of five years. Its TBW goes up to 150MBps and it is an MLC which is not bad at all. Its price per GB is 0.16 cents which is pretty cheap! Everyone loves cheap. Again, for the low low price of just $52.95, you can get this wonderful hard drive.

When using this hard drive, I would recommend just using a home motherboard. According to everything I have done, it works best on a home motherboard. This is a great, cheap hard drive option if you just have a home motherboard. It works great for me and I have not had any issues with it so far! I would definitely recommend!

AMD Ryzen 3 3200G Review

This CPU is amazing. This CPU works very well with my  home motherboard. This works wonders with how cheap this CPU is .  This CPU only costed $104.99 on Newegg. This CPU is amazing for home PC’s. It works great for simple uses. This would be a very bad CPU if you wanted to play video games using it. It works great for just simple browsing. This is not a gaming CPU AT ALL. So If that is what you are looking for, then get away from this one as soon as possible. For simple use however, this is a great option, especially for how cheap it is. I really like the CPU’s that AMD makes. This one is not the greatest that they have made by any means. If your just using your PC every so often and not for any gaming use, this is a pretty good CPU choice.

*AM4 Socket

*4 Cores and 4 Threads
