{"id":3067,"date":"2023-01-22T04:10:40","date_gmt":"2023-01-22T04:10:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wordpress.nationaltrail.k12.oh.us\/ittech\/?p=3067"},"modified":"2023-01-22T04:10:40","modified_gmt":"2023-01-22T04:10:40","slug":"how-to-create-a-mirth-connect-server-on-ubuntu-20-04","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wordpress.nationaltrail.k12.oh.us\/ittech\/2023\/01\/22\/how-to-create-a-mirth-connect-server-on-ubuntu-20-04\/","title":{"rendered":"How To Create a Mirth Connect Server On Ubuntu 20.04"},"content":{"rendered":"<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Create an Ubuntu Desktop VM<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Change IP address to desired address either through DHCP or statically on the machine<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Update Linux<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">apt-get update<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">apt-get upgrade<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Install Java and SQL<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Open the terminal<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sudo apt install default-jre<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Install sql<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">sudo apt install mysql-server<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Make sure java installed<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Open terminal<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Java -version<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Go to <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nextgen.com\/products-and-services\/mirth-connect-downloads\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/www.nextgen.com\/products-and-services\/mirth-connect-downloads<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Download the Linux.tar.gz file for the Linux installation<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Install the Administrator version as well<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Extract the 2 downloads and move them to the \/opt\/ directory\u00a0<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">tar -xvzf \/path\/to\/filename.tar.gz<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Open New terminal<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Move downloads from desktop to \/opt\/ directory<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cd Desktop\/<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sudo mv \/DOWNLOAD ONE NAME\/ \/opt\/<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Sudo mv \/DOWNLOAD TWO NAME\/ \/opt\/<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Confirm that the files are in the \/opt\/ directory<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cd \/opt\/<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ls<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">There should be 2 files in the \/opt\/ directory (the two you downloaded and moved)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Enter the mirth file to find the configuration file<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cd Mirth\\ Connect\/<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ls<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cd \/conf<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ONLY DO THIS IF YOU WISH TO EDIT CONFIG FILE<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nano mirth.properties<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You will not be free to edit the configuration files.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Cat mirth.properties<\/span>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">You should now be in the server properties of mirth.
