  1. Create an Ubuntu Desktop VM<\/span><\/li>\n
  2. Change IP address to desired address either through DHCP or statically on the machine<\/span><\/li>\n
  3. Update Linux<\/span>\n
      \n
    1. apt-get update<\/span><\/li>\n
    2. apt-get upgrade<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    3. Install Java and SQL<\/span>\n
        \n
      1. Open the terminal<\/span>\n
          \n
        1. sudo apt install default-jre<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
        2. Install sql<\/span>\n
            \n
          1. sudo apt install mysql-server<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
          2. Make sure java installed<\/span>\n
              \n
            1. Open terminal<\/span>\n
                \n
              1. Java -version<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
              2. Go to <\/span>https:\/\/www.nextgen.com\/products-and-services\/mirth-connect-downloads<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<\/span>\n
                  \n
                1. Download the Linux.tar.gz file for the Linux installation<\/span><\/li>\n
                2. Install the Administrator version as well<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                3. Extract the 2 downloads and move them to the \/opt\/ directory\u00a0<\/span>\n
                    \n
                  1. tar -xvzf \/path\/to\/filename.tar.gz<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                  2. Open New terminal<\/span>\n
                      \n
                    1. Move downloads from desktop to \/opt\/ directory<\/span>\n
                        \n
                      1. Cd Desktop\/<\/span><\/li>\n
                      2. Sudo mv \/DOWNLOAD ONE NAME\/ \/opt\/<\/span><\/li>\n
                      3. Sudo mv \/DOWNLOAD TWO NAME\/ \/opt\/<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                      4. Confirm that the files are in the \/opt\/ directory<\/span>\n
                          \n
                        1. cd \/opt\/<\/span><\/li>\n
                        2. ls<\/span>\n
                            \n
                          1. There should be 2 files in the \/opt\/ directory (the two you downloaded and moved)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                          2. Enter the mirth file to find the configuration file<\/span>\n
                              \n
                            1. cd Mirth\\ Connect\/<\/span><\/li>\n
                            2. ls<\/span><\/li>\n
                            3. cd \/conf<\/span><\/li>\n
                            4. ONLY DO THIS IF YOU WISH TO EDIT CONFIG FILE<\/span>\n
                                \n
                              1. nano mirth.properties<\/span><\/li>\n
                              2. You will not be free to edit the configuration files.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                              3. Cat mirth.properties<\/span>\n
                                  \n
                                1. You should now be in the server properties of mirth. Edit these files if you wish to (username, password, port numbers)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                                2. Lave the configuration file<\/span>\n
                                    \n
                                  1. Cd ..<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                                  2. Launch the server<\/span>\n
                                      \n
                                    1. .\/mcserver<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                                    2. Connect to the server via web browser<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                                      IF YOU DECIDE TO USE THE ADMIN PROGRAM<\/span><\/p>\n

                                      1. Open a new terminal window<\/span><\/li>\n
                                      2. Navigate to \/opt\/ directory<\/span>\n
                                          \n
                                        1. Cd \/opt\/<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                                        2. Go into the mirth admin program<\/span>\n
                                            \n
                                          1. cd mirth-administrator-launcher\/<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
                                          2. Run the launcher<\/span>\n
                                              \n
                                            1. .\/launcher<\/span><\/li>\n
